Most people (including some Christians) leave out most parts of their lives to chance. I've observed overtime that when it comes to achieving success on earth, people tend to rely more on their capabilities than on God. This is not only wrong but it also negates God's desire for us.

God created us for an intimate relationship with Him, so that He could through it intervene in every area of our lives. He didn't create us to live apart from Him. Neither does He want us experience failure in life. God has made provision for our all-round success, which we can gain through Him.

Having an intimate relationship with God is one of the best decisions anyone will ever make. God wants to be actively involved in all our affairs. This is not because He wants to be a burden to us, or make our lives rigid and uninteresting—but because He has our best interest at heart. 

God wants to be involved in all areas of our lives. This includes academics, family, relationships, career, job, and everything concerning us. God loves us and He knows what is best for us.

   

As a genuine Christian, I believe that we know the power of prayer, which cannot be underestimated. Before venturing into anything, we are supposed to consult God first, to seek His counsel. It is important to commit our works to the Lord. 

Proverbs 16:3 NASB

Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established.

The need to commit everything we do into God's hands, and involves Him in our lives cannot be overemphasized. 

As the child of a loving Father, we shouldn't go for job interviews without involving our Heavenly Father. Sometimes, the reason why Believers tend to fail in their life endeavors is because they didn't involve God. 

Besides the fact that prayer is a means of communicating with God, it is as well a powerful tool for bringing into being the things we desire. 

With prayer, you communicate your needs, desires, challenges, goals and every other thing that concerns us to God. With prayer, we ask God to intervene in our lives, and He does just that. 

   

You are not expected to trivialise any aspect of your life. God is very much interested in you and all that concerns you—including the job interview you plan to attend. With this knowledge, seize the opportunity to commit your interview into God's hands and ask for His intervention. 

Why Pray Before Job Interview

To further prepare your mind for towards praying for your job interview, and to help you pray effectively, below are specific reasons why you should pray for success in your job interview. 

1. To Receive Insight On How To Go About It 

As humans, our understanding and knowledge about certain things are limited. Only God is all-knowing. As simple and unsignificant as a job interview may seem, there are ways to go about it. We may not always know what to do from our end, and we may not always know what to expect during our interviewers, that's why it's important to ask God. 

Because God knows and understands all things, it is advisable we seek His wisdom concerning the interview we are about to go for. When we pray to God before an interview, He opens our eyes to see the things we can do to obtain positive results from the job interview.

2. To Dispel Fear And Anxiety

Anxiety and fear is one of the vauses of people's failure at job interviews. Fear is demonic, it entraps and limits a man. Fear oppresses a man. Fear makes valuable things slip out of one's grip. Fear torments its victim. 

In some cases, job seekers may have done a lot of preparation before going for interviews, only to end up fumbling on the day they get interviewed, due to fear of failure. 

When we pray before going for a job Interview, we receive faith which dispels and swallows up every fear. With prayer, you can destroy the projection of the enemy (in form of fear and anxiety) aimed at making you fail the job interview or prevent you from landing your dream job.

3. To Obtain Favour From God

Divine favour is like a grease that eases tension in the life of anyone under its influence. When favour is at work in the life of a person, they experience breakthrough, success and open doors without much stress. 

God's favour upon a man's life singles him out, it can cause him to get handpicked for a job position he never dreamed to have. Divine favour commands divine breakthrough, be it in the area of job, academics or business. 

When the favour of God is at work in the life of a man, he will be distinguished from the crowd and beautified. A man under the emblem of divine favour can be preferred above others. 

You also can obtain good success in that job interview, if you go under the emblem of God's favour through prayer.

4. To Destroy The Plots Of The Enemy 

This is another reason why you should pray before an interview. Understand that the enemy and his cohorts do not have any good plans for you. They can go to any length to make sure you do not achieve anything that will bring about progress in your life. 

It is a sad reality that the enemy is always fighting tooth and nail to see that the child of God experiences failure and misfortune in life. But thank God for the mystery and weapon of prayer available to us. 

With prayer, you can frustrate all attempts of the enemy against your progress. You can confound him and make him lose in his battle against the success of your job interview.

Final Thoughts On Prayer Before Job Interview

God desires to bless us financially. And one of the channels through which we can enjoy financial blessings is our job. So, it is God's desire for you to succeed at your job interview, so you can walk in financial dominion. 

Your efforts, skill, knowledge, intelligence may not be enough to land you your dream job—that is why we need God's intervention. 

Don't leave anything to chances. Prayer is an powerful tool that brings a lot of positive results when effectively used. When you pray before an interview, you invite God to back you up as you go for the job interview. 

Your capabilities aren't enough (Zechariah 4:6). Not praying before a job interview prevents God from influencing the outcome of that interview. Prayerlessness is a show of pride. You can't do much in life or achieve great things without prayer.

As you engage in prayer before your job interview, you will be favoured, because divine intervention will be at play. When you pray before an interview, you spiritually settle any anomaly or evil manifestation that may want to stop you. 

When you finally receive good news concerning your job interview, do not forget to ascribe all glory to God Almighty and give Him thanks.
