We live in a world filled with many ups and downs. When God created the world, He had no evil intention. He created the living and non-living things. The scriptures say that everything God created was good (Genesis 1:31).

But we realise that in our world today, there are different manifestations of evil and wickedness. Confusion among people, people looking for the downfall of others, witchcraft and all manners of evil. This is against God's original intention at creation.

Psalms 74:20 (KJV)
Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

The above scripture re-affirms that the world is filled with unimaginable manifestations of wickedness. The enemy obviously does not want us to experience our redemption package.

Prayer To Destroy The Works Of The Enemy

But how come that the perfect world that God created has now become something else? The peaceful world God created is now filled with evil. Indeed, an enemy has done this.

1 Peter 5:8 (AMP)
Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

The above scripture tells us who our real enemy is. The devil is the enemy of man, not directly a fellow human. Although, the devil uses people that are available for him to perpetrate his wickedness on the earth.

It is foolishness to think a fellow man is your enemy. That person is only being used as a vessel by the devil. For us to fight properly, we have to fight against the right enemy. Fighting against a fellow human is just an effort in futility.

It is very important for us to know as Believers that Jesus Christ did not only come to save our soul, but also to destroy all the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). Our original identity in Christ does not give room for the manifestation of the works of the enemy.

Let us explore how we can effectively destroy the works of the devil that is preventing us from enjoying the life Christ paid for us to enjoy.

Ephesians 6:11-13 (AMP)
Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

This scripture opens our eyes to how we can go about destroying the works of the enemy. Our warfare is spiritual, therefore our weapons are spiritual. With prayer, we can dislodge the devil over our case.

Prayer is an effective tool in the hands of a Beliver who desires to destroy the works of the enemy. The devil is ever working against us, so we must also stay prayed up in order to put the enemy in his rightful place.

Let's not be insensitive. Spiritual matters are sensitive hence should be treated with divine wisdom. The works of the enemy (if allowed to fester) won't allow us to enjoy the fullness of our inheritance in Christ Jesus.

Every Believer who desires to walk in the reality of their identity in Christ, must stand firm on the prayer altar to destroy all the works of the enemy.

We must be awake and watch spiritually in prayer in order to clamp down on every manifestation of the works of darkness.
