Forgiving Others Bible Verses

One might wonder why it's really needful to forgive others. To some people, it is difficult to forgive, compared to not forgiving. The moment some of us recall how a particular person has hurt us in the past, it turns out to seem impossible to forgive them. Today, we will talk about the act of forgiveness, together with Bible verses for forgiving others

Why do we need to bring Bible verses into the subject matter? It is because, to most Christians, it is easier to do a particular thing when they find out it is written as a command in the Word of God. I believe it's easier to forgive because the holy Bible instructs us to do so.

Matthew 6:14 NIV
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

The most interesting part is that, our willingness (or lack thereof) to forgive others will determine whether God forgives us or not.

Forgiving Others Bible Verses

The content of this article will revolve around the following:

  • Forgiveness of others bible verses
  • Forgiveness for others bible verses
  • Forgiving each other bible verses
  • Bible verses about forgiving others who hurt you kjv

We are all offenders. Not only do we sin against God but also people. You will agree with me that, in one way or another, we have offended our brothers and sisters. There is no one on earth who has never offended anyone throughout their lifetime. Sometimes, we even do it unconsciously.

As much as we expect others to forgive us of our offenses, we also should be willing to forgive our offenders.

We also offend God daily. Knowingly or unknowingly, the most righteous man sins against God at least five times per day. As much as we expect God to forgive us each time we sin against Him, the Bible instructs us to forgive our brethren.

In other words, if we fail to forgive others, that could possibly hinder our prayers of forgiveness towards God. I believe we do not want anything hindering our prayers, so we should endeavor to obey God.

10 Importance Of Forgiveness

There are innumerable benefits tied to forgiving others.

  1. First of all, we must understand that forgiveness benefits the forgiver more than the forgiven. Holding grudges in the heart against others is like carrying unnecessary load that weighs us down. Forgiving will take that load off of us.
  2. Forgiving others helps us have a pure heart. The Bible makes us understand that with a pure heart, we can draw closer to God. In other words, without it, our relationship with the Lord would suffer.
  3. We must forgive others, because we expect others to also forgive us when we offend them.
  4. We should forgive others so that God will also forgive us.
  5. Inability to forgive others hinders our prayers
  6. Forgiveness brings inner peace to the forgiver.
  7. Forgiveness enables us to experience breakthrough in all that we do.
  8. Forgiveness attracts God's blessings. The Lord is pleased with us when we forgive our brethren.
  9. The Bible instructs us to follow peace with all men. Forgiveness is one way we can achieve that.
  10. No one is holding grudges into Heaven. Forgiving others will enable us become candidates of Heaven.
